The Assessor is responsible for the valuation of
6,000 parcels of real property with a total market
value of $5.8 of tax maps and property records, and
the administration of various types of exemptions in
accordance with New York State Real Property Tax
Law and local laws.
Each year the Tentative Assessment Roll is
completed and filed for public inspection on or
before April 28th. This document contains property
descriptions, ownership, valuations, and any
exemptions that have been granted as of March
1st, the Taxable Status Date. Please refer to our
Assessment and Tax Collection Calendar and our
Tax Rate Schedule.
A property owner may request a review of their
assessment anytime prior to March 1st each year.
This review will include an inspection of the property
to verify the data on record. If a property owner is
dissatisfied with the result of this review, he may
appeal to the Board of Assessment Review on
Grievance Day, which is the forth Tuesday in May
each year. To file an appeal, a Complaint (NYS
form RP-5240) must be completed and filed with the
Assessor's Office at least three (3) business days
prior to Grievance Day. Complaint forms are
available in the Assessor's Office and also available
online. If a hearing before the Board is requested,
the Assessor's Office will schedule an appointment.
Grievance Day hearings are held at the Town of
Alexandria, Alexandria Bay, NY 13607 from 8:00
A.M. to 4:00 P.M. If a hearing is not requested, the
Board will make a determination based solely on
the written complaint.

HEARING OF COMPLAINTS
Notice is hereby that the Assessor of Town of Alexandria , County of Jefferson, has completed the
Tentative Assessment Roll for the current year; that a copy thereof has been left with Town Clerk at
46372 Co. Rt 1 where it may be seen and examined by any person interested therein during the hours
and date following: Normal business hours. May 2nd - 20th (9am-4pm) , Wednesday May 11th(6:00pm-
8:00pm) and Saturday May 14th from (9:00am - 1:00pm)
On "Fourth Tuesday Of May"(May 24th) The Board Of Assessment Review will meet between the hours
of 1:00pm - 3:00pm and 6:00pm - 8:00pm at the Town Of Alexandria Office to hear and examine all
complaints in relationship to such assessments, on the application of any person believing himself

valuation data is available for examination of each
parcel which will appear on the Tentative
Assessment Roll of the Town Of Alexandria which
will be filed on or before May 2nd, 2011.
The information may be reviewed, by appointment, in
the Assessor's Office at 46372 Co Rte 1, Alexandria
Bay, NY 13607
On May 2, 2010 -- May 20, 2010 between the hours
of 9:00am --4:00pm and on May 11th
(6:00-8:00pm)and May 14th 2011 (9:00am --1:00pm).
